Need help adding a key to your key ring? Follow these simple steps to do it safely and easily:

1. Hold the Key Ring Firmly

Grip the key ring between your thumb and index finger so you can clearly see where the two loops overlap.

2. Find the Split/Opening

Look for the small gap where the two ends of the ring meet—this is where you’ll start.

3. Use Your Fingernail or a Tool to Pry It Open

Slide your thumbnail (or a small tool like a coin, screwdriver, or butter knife) between the two layers and twist slightly to lift the top ring away from the bottom.

4. Slide the Key Onto the Lifted End

While keeping it open, push the hole of the key onto the lifted end of the ring.

5. Rotate the Key Around the Ring

Turn the key around the ring’s coil so it feeds on gradually.
Tip: Use your fingers to rotate the key instead of forcing the ring to bend.
